Two weeks with Casinacho: a quietly great pocket adventure
I'll admit I nearly skipped Casinacho. The name gave me no idea what it was, and the store screenshots undersell it badly. But a reader asked us to look at it, so I gave it an evening. That evening turned into two weeks.
The hook is exploration. You start with access to one small district of a seaside town and gradually earn your way into the rest by helping people and noticing details. Nothing is gated behind timers, which meant I could actually play it during short breaks. The auto-save is so reliable I never once lost progress.
Controls are the thing I keep praising. Tap to move, swipe to pan the camera, and context buttons appear only when they're useful. It's a genuinely one-handed experience, which I can't say for most adventure games on phones.
If I have a complaint, it's that the town runs out of secrets before you want it to. The final stretch felt a little thin. But for a relaxed, curious little adventure, Casinacho earned its spot in my rotation, and it earned its 4.4.
My advice: don't rush. This is a game about looking closely, so let yourself wander down the streets that don't seem important yet.
